Making a difference through your giving

Why St. Luke's Magic Valley Health FoundationPhoto?

The mission of St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation is to facilitate cultivation, recognition, and stewardship of charitable gifts given to support the medical center and the health care of the community.

Effectively providing superior health care services for all people requires the constant support of dedicated community leaders, those who develop funding for the continuous advancement of medical knowledge and technology.

St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit, charitable corporation with its own principle fund. It has been helping enhance health care in the Magic Valley since 1978.

The Foundation is governed by a 25-member volunteer board of trustees comprised of community leaders who support St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center and encourage giving to local health care services.

The Foundation uses charitable gifts to assist St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center health care providers and various community programs through grants for patients needs, staff education, medical equipment, capital purchases, and beneficial projects in the Magic Valley area.

The Foundation's vision of enhancing the Magic Valley community's health care through philanthropy is carried out through its broad fundraising operations.

St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation manages more than 60 funds to help meet our local health care needs, and has been instrumental in assisting with the Magic Valley's present high level of health care availability.

The Foundation accepts both cash and planned gifts from donors who have the spirit and the will to give to help meet those health care needs.

Charitable gifts to the Foundation from community minded organizations and individuals help purchase medical equipment, support preventive and wellness programs for people of all ages, provide support for patients needs, send hospital staff to workshops to improve their caregiver skills, and provide scholarships to nursing students who will stay and work in the Magic Valley.

The Foundation donated $187,780 to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center to purchase its first digital cardiac ultrasound system to improve diagnoses of both adult and newborn heart patients. In all, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in support of health care over the past 20 years, but new needs emerge every year.
