Lung Cancer Study
Description:
Are you a heavy smoker? St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute
(MSTI) has been chosen as one of only a few to participate
in an important new lung cancer study, the National Lung
Screening Trial (NLST) through the National Cancer Institute.
This study aims to compare screening with spiral CT against screening with chest x-ray for effectiveness in reducing the number of deaths due to lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. In partnership with the University of Utah, St. Luke's MSTI will enroll up to 1,750 participants into the NLST.
If you are between the ages of 55 and 74 and are a heavy smoker, or have quit within the last 15 years, you may be eligible to participate.
